As per the CCS (Fixation of Pay of Re-employed Pensioners) Orders, 1986 dated 31.07.1986 issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T), re-employed ex-servicemen from the ranks of JCOs/ORs (or their equivalent) currently do not receive the benefit of pay fixation based on their past military service when appointed to Central Civil Services. In contrast, re-employed Commissioned Officers are granted this benefit, with their pay fixed at par with the last pay drawn prior to retirement from the Armed Forces.
However, Public Sector Banks and Public Sector Insurance Companies have extended the pay fixation benefit to all re-employed ex-servicemen, irrespective of rank, by considering the last pay drawn in the Armed Forces for fixation of pay.
